RHANDA JONES


RhandaRHANDA JONES began her dancing career at the age of three. Many dance classes later, she pursued her dreams and passions at Ryerson University, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance Dance. She has studied and worked with influential choreographers and teachers such as Robert Glumbek, Allen Kaeja, Vicki St. Denis, Karen Duplisea, Kenny Pearl, Laurence Lemieux, Darryl Tracy, and many more. Rhanda has danced in many productions including Old and Young and Reckless Together, Kenny Pearl’s Emerging Artist Intensive, Dance Ontario DanceWeekend ’11, Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie’s ALLONEWORD opener, and Dave Wilson’s 60 Minute Improv Show. She also was part of the Women and War tour and world premiere in Greece.

Currently, Rhanda is an elevations technique assistant for Kaeja d’Dance, as well as ReActive Dance Theatre’s Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director/Choreographer alongside Amanda Pye. With ReActive, Rhanda has choreographed for Toronto Fringe Festival 2014, Nuit Blanche, Summerworks Opening Night, TOES for Dance/CCDT’s IGNITE Summer Dance Intensive, CoExsis Dance Duet Series, MARTY AWARDS, Docket Theatre, and Cawthra Park Secondary School. She and Amanda recently created ReActive’s first full-length features one (2013) and GUNSHOT (2014).
